Eminem - Not Afraid

Eminem “Eminem to headline Reading and Leeds”

Eminem is the first headline act announced for the UK’s Reading and Leeds festivals in 2013.
Eminem will headline the UK’s Reading and Leeds festivals next year.
The ‘Stan’ rapper will be making his first appearance in the UK since 2011 at the events, which will be held in August 2013.
The rapper, 40, has previously appeared at the twin festivals in 2001, when he showcased his ‘The Marshall Mathers LP’ and was joined on stage by Marilyn Manson for the track ‘The Way I Am’.
The Reading and Leeds festivals are also diversifying away from their usual rock and heavy metal roots, with indie band Alt-J, drum and bass act Sub Focus and grime collective Boy Better Know joining rockers Deftones on the bill. A further two headliners and many more acts will be announced in the coming months.
Eminem’s last solo release was 2010′s ‘Recovery’, but since then he has also appeared on ‘Hell: The Sequel’ with his group Bad Meets Evil and ‘Welcome to Our House’ with his band Slaughterhouse.

Eminem will likely be showcasing new songs in his set, as he is strongly rumoured to be releasing a new album next year. He recently told how he has recorded a track with Lady Gaga and rapper Kendrick Lamar.
He said: ”Yeah, I got this crazy record with Gaga and Kendrick for the upcoming LP. Its called ‘Street Lights’, and its just a real upbeat record.”

Eminem RAGES on 50 Cent’s “My Life” Single

I think this is one of the most badass verses from Em in quite a while, and he looks pretty refined, yet manic, in this video. I really think this dark, adult, eloquent, endless well of poetic anger he’s tapping in to lately is hitting the mark. Thoughts?

50 Cent has just dropped this new single for his upcoming album Street King Immortal, and it features a BLISTERING new verse from Em!NeM.

Check out the new video below:

Eminem to Feature on New Skylar Grey Single

So what’s the single? it’s called “C’Mon Let Me Ride” and it’s apparently a ‘fun’ and ‘sarcastic’ satirical track, mocking an overly sexual music industry. And that’s not the best part; Eminem not only has a verse on this song, but he sings a rendition of Queen’s classic “Bicycle Race” hook, originally sung by Freddie Mercury. I know, right? I can’t wait to hear that. If you haven’t heard the original.

Speaking on the track, Skylar said..
I’ve learned from Em I can have more fun. He’s very sarcastic and makes me laugh all the time and there are parts of my attitude I have in person but I’ve never shown in a song. I feel like he showed me I don’t have to be afraid to show that side.
This track certainly sounds like fun, and the visuals look interesting.
Check out this picture of Em and Skylar on-set:

Personally, I’ve been waiting for Em to get a little more creative again. Not necessarily goofy, as I don’t think that’s when he’s at his best, so I’m hoping that it’s not overly silly, but the concept of this song sounds somewhat promising, and I can’t wait to hear what Em has done with that hook.
I think it’s pretty obvious that the lyrics will imply Em riding Skylar ‘like a bicycle’ or something, but it’ll be interesting to hear where he’s at lyrically, and style-wise.
This single is released December 11th, and will be on Skylar Grey’s debut album, Don’t Look Down.
Skylar Grey co-wrote “Love the Way You Lie” (hook), and sung the original version. She also wrote and performed the hook for “I Need a Doctor”, and she did a terrific job performing that chorus, with Em insisting Skylar remain on it, over Lady GaGa. Kudos, Em.
Okay, well anyway, she’s basically been under the wing of Alex Da Kid (producer of “Love the Way You Lie”) who is producing most of her upcoming debut album, and it was through Alex that she met Eminem. Well, now Em is going to be working on her album too, and featuring on her first single !

Eminem Sings Classic Queen Hook On Skylar Grey’s … ‘C’Mon Let Me Ride’

Eminem Sings Classic Queen Hook On Skylar Grey’s ‘C’Mon Let Me Ride’
As well as executive producing Skylar Grey’s new album Don’t Look Down, Eminem also features on lead single ‘C’Mon Let Me Ride’, singing a classic hook from Queen’s Bicycle Race. Grey famously penned the rapper’s smash hit single ‘Love the Way You Lie.’
Speaking to Rolling Stone about the idea of having Eminem sing the chorus to the single, Grey explained, “That was an Eminem move. The first time I heard his verse, he had added that part in as well and it made me laugh, so we kept it.” The original idea was to have Freddie Mercury’s original vocals on the track, though Grey said, “I love hearing Marshall change his voice like that and just, like, be a character, play a character, so I thought that was funnier, personally.” The playful, satirical tune about music, the media and girls is likely to be a hit anyway, though the Eminem factor won’t hurt its release. The superstar rapper has plenty of faith in Grey too, “When I was working on Recovery, I was introduced to Skylar by Alex Da Kid and I was blown away with her talent as both a songwriter and vocalist,” he said in a press release. “This album is really going to give her a chance to connect with the fans who probably know her music but might not know her yet. I think they will be as impressed as I am.”
Grey’s new album Don’t Look Down is scheduled for a Spring 2013 release.

Eminem Biography “Rapper”

Eminem (born Marshall Mathers 17.10.1972)
With over 70 million worldwide album sales, Academy Awards and Grammy Awards under his belt, Eminem is one of the best-selling musicians of the early 2000s and a best-selling rap artist of all time. Discovered by legendary producer Dr Dre. (formerly of N.W.A.), Eminem was later signed to Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment record label.

Eminem’s Childhood
Eminem’s father deserted him and his mother shortly after his birth in St. Joseph, Missouri. They moved between St. Joseph and Warren, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. Aged 14, he performed at amateur rap contests and later joined the group Soul Intent, billed as M&M.
Eminem’s Musical Career
Eminem’s first official tape release was Fuckin’ Backstabber / Soul Intent, followed by an independent album named Infinite, which was influenced by Nas and AZ. This was followed by The Slim Shady EP (Slim Shady was another of Marshall Mathers’ aliases), which brought about much attention and mixed reviews in the underground hip-hop scene, due to his distinctive rapping style.
The Slim Shady LP was his first release, once signed to Aftermath Entertainment / Interscope Records. The album went on to be one of the most popular albums of 1999 and was awarded triple platinum status. This time, it was his controversial lyricism that brought the media attention. Dr Dre, who has appeared on all of Eminem’s mainstream albums, appeared on the track ‘Guilty Conscience’, which ends with a man being encouraged to kill his own wife and her lover.
The follow up to The Slim Shady LP, was even more successful, in terms of sales. Released in May 2000, it quickly sold two million copies and was Mathers’ fastest selling album to date. Again, his lyrics brought attention to the album, by making offensive remarks about various celebrities, including Christina Aguilera, Blink 182′s Fred Durst, as well as making a promotional video (for ‘My Name Is’) that mocked Marilyn Manson. Eminem also sampled Dido’s song ‘Thank You’ for the UK number one single ‘Stan’.
The third major album for Eminem was The Eminem Show. Released in 2002, it was yet another hit, selling over one million copies in its first week. This time around, electronic producer Moby, as well as the rock band Limp Bizkit and boy bands in general were the victims of Mathers’ lyrical vitriol. His much-publicised relationship with his wife and daughter are also explored on this album, as are the charges he faced over an assault on a man he saw kissing his wife.
A song destined for the bonus track accompanying his fourth major album, Encore (2004), landed Eminem in more hot water; this time with the U.S. Secret Service. The song ‘We As Americans’ was leaked onto the internet and Mathers was investigated for allegations that he had threatened the President. The lyrics in question were: “Fuck money / I don’t rap for dead presidents / I’d rather see the president dead / it’s never been said, but I set precedents.” Aside from the scandal, Encore was another chart-topper for Eminem A compilation album released in 20005, entitled Curtain Call: The Hits, sparked rumours that Eminem was about to end his rapping career. Eminem denied this on Detroit’s WKQI radio station, but suggested that he may be taking a break as a recording artist. Summer 2005 saw Mathers embarking on his first US tour in three years (the Anger Management Tour, featuring 50 Cent and G-Unit, Obie Trice and Lil’ John). In August, however, he cancelled the European tour in order to enter drug rehabilitation.
In 2006, Eminem launched Shady Records with the Eminem Presents the Re-Up mixtape.
Eminem is also a member of the rap group D12, whose ‘Purple Pills’ track was rewritten to remove the more obvious drug references, and renamed ‘Purple Hills’.
Eminem’s acting career. The semi-autobiographical film 8-mile was Eminem’s official Hollywood acting debut. He recorded a number of new songs for the soundtrack, including ‘Lose Yourself’, which won an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
